Unforget is a spaced-repetition app for the LeetCode problems you have already solved. Amrit Sengupta runs it alone, as a student project. This page says what it keeps, where, and for how long. For questions or requests, email amrit.sengupta.engg@gmail.com.

What Unforget keeps

  • Your Google account. When you sign in, Google tells Unforget your name, email address, profile picture and an ID for your account. Unforget keeps only the email address and the ID. It never sees your Google password.
  • Your settings: your time zone, daily budget, retention target, whether to ask for patterns and whether Today shows them, the patterns you add yourself and the names you give patterns, and when you signed up.
  • Your problems and reviews. Each problem you track, each solve (when, in which language, LeetCode's number for the submission, the version of the extension that logged it, the time it took, and the pattern you picked for it, such as binary search), each review (the grade you gave, when, and the time it took: measured by the extension, or typed in by you), and the schedule worked out from them, one for each pattern you use on a problem, with when you stopped reviewing one. A problem's number, title and difficulty come from LeetCode's public list.
  • A log of what you do in Unforget, such as signing up, adding a problem, grading it or connecting a browser, so problems can be traced.
  • Connected browsers: when each was connected, last used and disconnected, and a fingerprint (a hash) of its key, never the key itself.

Unforget never keeps your code, LeetCode's problem statements, or anything from your LeetCode account.

The Chrome extension

  • What it reads. On leetcode.com, it reads only LeetCode's replies when you submit a solution: the problem, the verdict, the language and the submission's number. It ignores your code, and "Run" isn't a submission. It reads no other website.
  • What it measures. How long each problem's page is open in a tab you can see, up to 300 minutes, shown by the timer at the bottom right of the page. It stops while the tab is hidden or the timer is paused, and Reset sets it back to zero.
  • What it sends, only to unforget.in and only for an Accepted solution: the problem, the language, the submission's number, when it was accepted, the time on the page, and the extension's version. Then the grade and the pattern you pick, and the time if you correct it. Wrong answers aren't sent.
  • What it keeps in your browser: its connection to Unforget (the address, its key and your email address), each problem's time on the page and whether its timer is paused, until your next Accepted for it, whether you've hidden the timer, and solves waiting to be sent while Unforget can't be reached. Removing the extension deletes all of it.

The use of information received from the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

In your browser

One cookie, unforget_session, keeps you signed in for 30 days. It holds your user number and a security code, signed so that it can't be changed. There are no other cookies, and no analytics, ads or trackers.

Where it's kept, and who else sees it

  • The server is at Amazon Web Services (Lightsail) in Mumbai, India. Its logs record each request's IP address, time and page. Newer lines replace older ones once there are 50 MB of them. To slow down abuse, it also counts sign-ins from each IP address, and requests from each connected browser, for one minute, in memory only.
  • Backups: a copy of the database every night, in Amazon S3 in Mumbai. Each copy is deleted after 7 days, or after 28 days for one copy a week.
  • Error reports go to Sentry (sentry.io, in the United States) when something breaks: the error and the code that failed, without your IP address, cookies or browser details. They can include values from that code, such as your email address. Sentry deletes them after 30 days.
  • Google handles signing in.

Nobody else. Unforget doesn't sell or share your data, and uses it for nothing but running Unforget for you.

Deleting your data

Delete your account, at the bottom of Settings, deletes your account and everything in it at once. Unforget keeps only a note that an account was deleted, with nothing that says whose. Backups that still hold your data are deleted within 28 days, and error reports within 30. For a copy of your data, email amrit.sengupta.engg@gmail.com from your account's address.

To disconnect a browser, use Disconnect in the extension's popup or on the Connect page in Settings.
